Prison Journalism Project trains incarcerated writers to be journalists and publishes their stories. We accept first person essays; op eds; journalism based on observation, first person experiences and interviews; poetry and illustrated journalism. We have an extensive submissions document with three pages of writing prompts that writers can request that is also available here.
Stories and requests for our welcome packet can be sent via JPay and other email services to pjp@prisonjournalismproject.org
